Aquaponics

Aquaponics combines aquaculture and hydroponics

The aquaculture component consists of fish rearing tanks, clarifiers, filter tanks and a degassing tank.  The system produces 11,000 lbs. of tilapia annually. (74 kg/m3)

The hydroponic component consists of lined tanks with floating polystyrene sheets.  The system, as an example, produces 30 cases of lettuce each week.
