VIMAS activities and programs are highly visible and accessible to the community. Some of our best known activities are Coastweeks, Earth Day and the VI Clean Vessel Act Program. |
| Coastweeks is an annual event coinciding with The Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup. Coastweeks promotes interest in, appreciation of, and stewardship for the marine and coastal resources of the Virgin Islands. VIMAS organizes beach cleanups and other activities to honor the event. |
|
| Earth Day is celebrated in the territory with fairs, presentations, field trips and other activities. VIMAS helps to organize this annual event. |
| The VI Clean Vessel Act Program (CVA) is administered by VIMAS for the Government of the Virgin Islands' Division of Fish and Wildlife. CVA provides assistance and funding to marinas for the installation, operation and maintenance of vessel pumpout facilities. CVA also assists with educating the boating community on environmental issues and regulations that affect them. |
|
VIMAS agents also make marine-related presentations, conduct field trips and provide information to the public through radio and television presentations. |
