The female trees bear fruit, which can be eaten raw, made into a jelly or a wine like beverage. The astringent roots and bark have been used in medicines. These trees are more tolerant to salt that most trees. Hummingbirds and Bananaquits nest in them. This plant is currently missing its tag. |
