Welcome Welcome to the University of the Virgin Islands Water
Resources Research
Institute's Online Weather Station. We encourage you to visit this site often to get the most recent
information on weather conditions in St. Thomas. This page will be updated hourly with the latest
readings of temperature,
humidity,
solar radiation,
barometric pressure,
wind speed,
wind direction, and
rainfall. You can use the menus above and at the left
to navigate this site. To see the current weather conditions at UVI, just click on any of the
parameters shown at the left. For specifications on the monitoring instruments and how the online
station works, read about the station's features. We are still in the process of constructing our Weather Data Archive. When it is completed, you will be able to view historical meteorological data from the Virgin Islands. The archive will be a compilation of our meteorological data and those of other agencies and weather hobbyists. If you or your agency has historical or current data that you wish to contribute, contact us at hsmith@uvi.edu. Our solar powered weather monitoring station (seen in the photograph above), is located on the St. Thomas campus of the University of the Virgin Islands at the coordinates 18.34° N latitude and 64.97° W longitude at an elevation of 85 feet above sea level in the Atlantic Time Zone. The campus is located at the southern end of the island of St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. near the Cyril E. King Airport (see map).
